Deck: Sleep Serpents

Here's a mono blue deck I played today. I went 1-2 matches with it (4-4 on games, for what it's worth) so it's not like I dominated, but I just like it. It's a fun mental exercise to play this type of deck. There's nothing really pricey in here (3 rares) so it's easy to build.

The goal is to get two Serpent of the Endless Sea out (or one really big one, I guess) then cast a Sleep for two big swings. Oh, and you need to cast a Spreading Seas in there, too. Everything else is counter/control stuff.

Main Deck (60 cards)
4    Cancel
1    Clone
4    Essence Scatter
3    Kraken Hatchling
3    Negate
4    Ponder
4    Serpent of the Endless Sea
3    Sleep
2    Sphinx of Lost Truths
4    Spreading Seas
4    Unsummon
24    Island

Sideboard is stuff like Flashfreeze, etc. There are lots of little tweaks that could be made. The singleton Clone is kind of random but helps you get another Serpent on the board. Also, I did play a single Sower of Temptation today (swapped out for an Island) since the format was Extended. That was just another case of "I have this random good card, I'll toss it in." Sphinx of Lost Truths was good, I always payed 7 to get the 3 cards.
