The Boys

I started reading Garth Ennis’ comic series The Boys before we moved from Jefferson City. The premise of the book is that superheroes are kind of douchey and need to be kept in line so they don’t just run amok. That’s where “The Boys” come in, all black trenchcoats and wisecracks and badassery.
I’ve been mostly cold-turkey on the comic books since the move, but I was really into this series and wanted to see where it went. I just finished reading through issue #10 and I really enjoyed it. The first story arc (issues 1-6) was better than the second (issues 7-10) but they’re all fun and chock full of Ennis’ signature demented humor and whacked-out violence. Darick Robertson’s artwork is great, too. It’s a really entertaining book and I recommend it.
